Abbey Simshauser ~ Water polo.

Abbey Simshauser ~ Water polo.

Abbey is very dedicated and focused on her training and determined to achieve her goals in Waterpolo. She is also accomplished in martial arts. We are proud of her at MPF as she is only 12 but plays well above her age as is evident in her being selected firstly in the Under 14 Cronulla Sharks Metro team and most recently selected in the Under 15 NSWCHS team. Abbeys Itinerary in 2014 began at the State Championships in Junee on 4th April and National Championships in Melbourne 9th April. Most significantly Abbey and her Mum travel to the NSWCHS U15 Pan Pacific Championships - New Zealand and Regional Tour of Rotorua 4th - 14th July 2014. This is quite an achievement for a girl of just 12. Abbey personifies what the Monty Porter Foundation aims to do and that is ,assist kids achieve their sporting dreams. Onwards and upwards from here Abbey.

In March 2015 Abbey played in the Sydney East Open team that were victorious at the State Championships at Wagga. To finish off a successful week she was the youngest player named in the NSW CHS Open Water polo team to play in the All Schools Championships in March. Not bad for a 13 year old :)

Abbeys Cronulla team have won the Under 14 Girls National Club Championship 10-8 over the Polo Bears in a dramatic penalty shootout.
Abbey Simshauser played strongly for Cronulla and scored several times.
Simshauser converted her second through a penalty goal in the fourth,
Simshausers second penalty conversion put Cronulla back in front, before Andrews from the bears powered home her second with one minute remaining to level the score at 5-5 and push the game into a shootout.
As the shooters lined up, Simshauser converted for Cronulla, before goalkeeper Lucy Hull saved the Polo Bears shot. With Cronulla converting their remaining shots, the Polo Bears were unable to reply, ensuring Cronulla the Championship win.
