Isaac Humphries
National U/17 Basketball Representative

Our MPF recipient Isaac has recently returned from Melbourne's State Basketball centre with an Oceania FIBA Gold Medal. Isaac represented Australia in the U/17s against New Zealand. His team played magically to beat a persistent Kiwi outfit 2 games to 1. Isaac top scored in Game one with 18 points and over 39 points for the 3 game tournament. The boys now head to Dubai to contest the world cup in 2014. We wish Isaac and his team mates the very best of luck and congratulate him on a significant milestone on his journey to bigger and brighter things......

Isaac Humphries

Sutherland Shire boy Isaac Humphries, represented the NSW U16 Metro team at the U16 National Championships in South Australia, 6 ~13 July 2013.

The NSW team presented as firm favourites throughout the pool games, finishing on top of their pool after strong wins against Victoria Country, South Australia Country, Queensland South, New Zealand and Western Australia Country. Former Sutherland Shark and Monty Porter Foundation recipient , Isaac (15) was setting the standard at the Championships, averaging over 20 points and 10 rebounds per game.

After defeating traditional rivals Victoria Metro in the Semi Final, the NSW team was to face NSW Country in the Gold Medal game . Isaac captained the NSW team, in a thrilling game that saw both sides locked 57 all at fulltime. NSW Country however overcame a persistent Metro side to take the title 65 to 61 in extra time. Isaac received a silver medal and runners up at the National Championships. Congratulations. He now prepares for State U 16 Titles and Australian U17 team duties later this year.
